Brown Bag Webinar- Brownfields and Urban Agriculture Reuse

Come join us for an afternoon of biking, followed by a visit to The Local to wet our whistle after a hearty ride!
We will be leaving Rapson Hall at noon and visiting Gold Medal park, Minnehaha Creek, The Chain of Lakes, Walker Sculpture Garden and Nicollet Mall.

Students for Design Activism PARK(ing) Day

The Students for Design Activism are taking to the streets, or rather, parking stall Friday Sept. 17th to demonstrate how plants help protect our watersheds. Check them out at:

Landscape Summer BBQ!

Come on by this June 24th; MASLAs.c. is hosting our first summer BBQ/fundraiser at the residence of Gina Bonsignore (ASLA Minnesota) in St. Paul to send our Landscape Architecture students to LABash 2011 at Purdue University.



This is a family-friendly event with a $20 suggested donation. We're firing up the grill at 5:30, but come on by whenever you're getting hungry to show some support and enjoy some good ole Midwestern backyard fare.

MLA 1: Lake Sarita Master Plans

Lake Sarita is a small wetland at the south end of the University of Minnesota's St. Paul Campus. Historically neglected, Most of the original Lake Sarita was filled in and "temporary" student housing was built following the G.I. Bill in the 1950s and 60s. The project presented to the MLA 1 students was to re-design the space to incorporate improved hydrological properties as well as social and economic improvements into the awkward and oft-neglected space.

MASLA has opened a competition for MLA's at the College of Design to create their invite for the 2010 Awards Banquet. A pretty cool comp if you ask me.
